How do I?

Register as a Patient

Patients are required to register with a specific GP. This is so we can offer a familiar service to all when possible. You may register with the surgery if you live within a WA8 postcode. To register please come into the practice to pick up the registration forms, or use the below link to register online.

Please note if you do not live in a WA8 postcode, your online registration will be rejected.

Once you have completed your online registration forms, you will be required to attend the surgery with your identification where the Receptionist will then book your initial health check appointment with the Practice Nurse, please be aware you will not be registered at Bevan Group Practice until you have had your initial health check with the nurse.

Make an Appointment

When you register with the practice  we encourage patients to see any of the doctors and clinicians. However, you may express a preference for a particular doctor and we will endeavour to meet this request, however this is not always possible especially with an ‘on the day appointment’ and GP’s working hours. Should a patient wish to see their preferred doctor then it may result in a longer waiting time for their appointment.

Routine appointments can either be booked via the telephone, using the online services or made in person at the surgery.

The practice also offers emergencies appointments each day that can be booked from 8am each morning, however you may not see the GP of your choice.

If you are unable to keep your appointment for any reason, please contact the practice as soon as possible.

Request a Home Visit

Home visits are for housebound patients only, there are of course exceptions if patients genuinely cannot get to the practice for any reason, please speak to reception who can advise you more.

Home visits need to be requested before 11am each working day. To request a home visit please contact the reception team on 0151 424 3986 who can arrange this for you.

Repeat Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be requested either in person,  via the online service or posted to the practice.  The practice does not allow prescription requests to be taken over the telephone.

Please allow 72 hours for your prescription to be processed (this does not include weekends).

Emergency Prescriptions

Emergency prescriptions can be requested each day before 5pm and are processed by the on call GP. If your emergency prescription request is approved you will need to be collect the prescription at 6pm on the same day. Failure to collect and emergency prescription request will result in this being destroyed.

Please note emergency prescriptions are for genuine emergencies if you have forgotten to order your medication. Repeat medications should not be routinely ordered as an emergency prescription.

Obtain Results

When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and call the surgery between 9am – 2.30pm once sufficient time has elapsed.

Our staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
